A daughter who dreams of joining the ranks of Aldaraians. Then Jack comes home and finds his family dead. He devolves into despair, and then, clear thought, and rage. Then the divine beings tried to correct the mistake and removed the mismatched soul from its unfitting body, slinging it to a distant world with a new body to control. The human flesh-prison replaced with the unlimited options of a shapeshifter, the soul has now a magic-filled world to explore. Grow fur for a mountain hike, grow gills and fins for a deep dive. It's time to catch up on decades worth of missed travels and activities. But who wants to deal with the flesh-craving predators called shapeshifters? Another global purge could start, if the freshly transferred soul shows its abilities too much. ---- The rankings are a mystery to me - especially after this story made it to No. 1 under the shapeshifter tag (and others). If you think about it, it's kind of like having murderers all around you. But demons have their good sides. They care about one another and they have amazing ideas.
