Steve was brought into the alternate dimension stuff on accident, that wouldn't be the only thing he finds out by accident.
Eddie watched as Chrissy snapped, jaw, eyes, legs, arms. Eddie didn't know what to do, so he did what he always had; run.
He ran and ran, that's all he thought he knew how to.
Eddie is supposedly dead.
But is he?
This is set after they leave the Upside down.
Everyone had seemingly gotten better, but Steve couldn't help but feel lost.

The nightmares hadn't stopped. Every day was just trying to get to the next one. Sure, he'd been cleared of Chrissy's murder, but that didn't mean he had any real life here anymore. The only thing keeping him in Hawkins was his Uncle. He just couldn't leave him. Fleeing her ex Dani finds herself starting over in a quiet little town in the middle of nowhere. The perfect place to hide. Sure, the trailer park she'd found herself in wasn't the best place to live, but it was safe. That's what mattered. Steve(21) Hasn't had a chance to leave this awful place. He has stayed around for the kids, wanting nothing more to be there for each one's graduation. Confused. Lonely. Depression has really started to hit in the last couple of years after all of the tragic losses to the upsidedown. Nearly losing everything and everyone he's cared for and loved. Most everyone has gotten their chance to escape, Nancy and Jonathan moved to California after graduation. Robin's off at college. Until he realizes maybe he's not so alone here, sparking a true friendship with the most unlikely person, Eddie Munson. Eddie(22) hasn't been able to get out of this town either after swearing he would get the hell out of here many years ago. The kids are all graduating this year, which will most likely end up giving the two now men, no reason to stick around anymore. But what will happen to the two friends when Steve realizes the feelings he's thought for so long to just be a platonic friendship have always been a little more? I do not own rights to the ST characters or themes but I do own rights to my own storyline. I will be using pictures from artists that I find as the art for each chapter. Tw: 5 stages of grief but really really intense (i think) i'm not sure what else i don't really have this planned out i'm just kinda going with it a lot of trauma and mental breakdowns gore and descriptions of pain and like immense grieving (bc obviously... after season 4 like what do u expect) in this story everyone is fine, except for phycological trauma obviously, except for Eddie. Max lives, the town doesn't shatter and crack, it's all fine and dandy. Eddie is dead, everyone is heartbroken and no one knows how to really cope with it. Especially Steve.
