I look down at my hands. They're shaking, a lot. My head is heavy and warm. Sweat collects on my forehead. My blankets trap me. The darkness of midnight sucks me in. I can't breathe. I can't think. All I can hear is a screeching ring. A distasteful stench. A loud banging. My heart pounding. A fist pounding. And then it's all gone. But not forever. That saddens me. That it's not all gone. No one cares. No one knows. No one's there. It should be over. But somehow, it's not. I'm still here. But it's dark. It's quiet. It's numb. It's not done. I awaken. Only to be taken again. By the darkness. The silence. The peacefulness. The loneliness. The scariness. The aloneness. All done. Or is it? Maybe. Or maybe not? Stop the suffering. I awaken, it's all gone.
