For all the many great things in the land of Cilicia, Ace seemed to have gotten the short end of the stick. After sacrificing his life as a fairy after making a deal with a demon for more strength, he manages to save his town from the brink of extinction. Unfortunately, the people he just saved began to fear him since he can no longer be considered a member of their society and cast him out. He was devastated that after everything he had done to save them, they abandoned him and vowed to make them pay for their crimes. Meanwhile, something otherworldly has crashed landed in the Faewood, covered in soot and ash and nestled in the shadows of the dark oak trees. It wakes in a world that is unknown to it and a world that is unknown to them, with its skin coloured like the night sky speckled with spots that mimic the stars and eyes golden and sharp with focus. It breathes in once, twice and in a single breath, it skitters off into the forest with the wind.

The world is dying. The infection doesn't just take lives-it warps them, turning people into something unrecognizable. Something monstrous. Survivors hide, whispering of those lost to the sickness, but the infected are not the only danger. Amias refuses to believe all hope is gone. He clings to the idea that some can still be saved. Eclipse knows better. She has seen what mercy costs, and she won't make that mistake again. Survival is the only rule. Forced together in a land where the infected aren't the only predators, they must fight to stay ahead of the growing darkness. Something watches from the trees, waiting. Hunting. And in a world where humanity is slipping away, one truth remains: They never let go.
