Beca Mitchel is a talented music producer and Dj from the city. Her life outside of being a famous Dj is going nowhere until she meets Emily Junk, a beautiful and kind girl with a passion for singing.
Emily takes an instant liking to Beca after meeting sometime after Beca leaves somewhere she's not supposed to. And even though her best friend Stacie warns Emily that Beca is a rude and selfish person who only cares for herself, Emily doesn't listen. Because Emily knows that this is all fake news and everyone is not what the Internet says they are.

Although Beca thinks they will never meet again, they do.
But when they do meet again and it's when a drunk guy tries to hurt Emily, Beca then springs to the rescue. After helping her, they talk again, and exchange numbers and Emily then begins to notice that Beca is rather kind at heart. As she suspected.
But the pressures of Beca's job as a music producer leaves her blind to Emily's affections and Emily takes up writing songs and singing to try and distract herself.
So, when Beca's manager, Chloe Beale, threatens to come between them after meeting Emily, Emily has to act fast. While Chloe starts to make her move on Beca, Beca thinks that maybe it wouldn't hurt to give them a shot at having a relationship, even if it's with Beale, it wouldn't hurt to try, right?
But with Beca being oblivious to Emily's advances now that she's with Chloe, will any of them get their happy ever after? But most importantly who does Beca get with will she realize that Emily is the one she should wait for our maybe Chloe?
