long before time had a name, remnant was created by the brother gods using the powers of creation and destruction, to do so 4 ancient weapons were forged, the scythe of quakes, the nunchucks of lightning, the shurikins of ice, and the sword of fire, these weapons were so powerful, no one could handle all their power at once, after their departure from this realm the weapons were scattered to the winds along with a guardian to protect each one. now with the threat of Salem going after the 4 relics left behind as well, the time has come for a group of young huntsmen in training to seek out the weapons and save the world.

Remnant is made up of the 4 kingdoms, Vale, Mistral, Atlas and Vacuo, the hunter training academies, Beacon, Haven, Mantle and Shade, a continent where the Faunus originated called Menagerie, various villages in the country and the dark areas where the Grimm are said to appear from. Humans and Faunus all have a force apart of their soul they unlock known as Aura, which protects them like a shield but can discharge depending on the strength used in battle. They also use superpower-like abilities known as Semblance as well as powerful handmade weapons in all shapes and sizes. It's impossible for people to have the exact same Semblance, unless it runs in the family. The story revolves around a team of 4 huntresses in training.
