When Gwen Reynolds’ partying life is brought to an end by a fire that started at the butt-end of a drunken jock’s cigarette and ended up burning a beach party house, she is forced to pay for her ‘irresponsible’ behavior (which constitutes of sneaking out for parties) by working two shifts a day in the quaint little Seaside café for the rest of her high school life. 
Too bad it isn't as easy as she thinks it will be, mostly because she's stuck with the boy who saved her that night and glares at her most of the time for some mysterious reason.
Her days in Seaside café have just gotten interesting while trying to decipher the enigma that is
