Everything was clear now. At least my mind was, I couldn’t say so for my surroundings though. I turned to face Edward, and I could see realization had hit him too.
“Pop Rocket is totally ruined… What should we do now?” I asked worriedly.
“But we survived… That’s what is important…” Edward muttered.
“But we’re stuck in this place! And we don’t even know where we are!”
“Never mind, we will eventually work it out… At least this gives us another adventure…” Edward tried to comfort me, but I was too occupied with fear and worry.
“No! This will not work out! The rocket is gone! How are we going to get back! Are you planning to SWIM back?” I was losing it, and I could not help but screamed at him, with tears streaming down my face.

"We're all test subjects," Reese answered. "We were able to escape the system after receiving the cure though. All of us ended up with memory-erasing abilities which is one of the very few abilities that allows you to get out unnoticed." I blinked. Memory erasing? What the heck was she talking about? "Back up a second," I tried to keep my tone even and not let on to the whirlwind of emotions flaring up inside me. "How did you end up with magical abilities?" "They aren't magic dumbass," Micaiah scorned. "The whole reason they created the disease was survival of the fittest, as Skye mentioned. They're purposefully making the weak minorities sick to kill them off while they take the strongest young men and women to 'test' on, when really, they're just purposefully giving us the disease and then the cure. The cure is meant to 'over cure' us so to speak, as in make us stronger than we were before. We each end up with something slightly different." ☁ With Eli dead, it's back to the four of them. They set out to find the camp he'd mentioned, but they could have never imagined what it actually was. They've discovered national secrets that could kill them. With the help of another group of four ragged teenagers, they have to find a way to complete the impossible task of freeing the camp without losing their heads in the process. Follow each of them as they discover who they are, who they love, and more of their country's secrets than they could ever dream of in a thrilling trilogy told from all five points of view.

The whole camp was filling with smoke. I coughed, praying that my lungs would keep working for just a few more minutes. "Eli, which way is west?" Adam's breathing was just as labored from physical exertion, smoke, and panic as mine was. I didn't even process the question. I didn't know. We couldn't see anything through the smoke because the fire was spreading so quickly, and I just realized I'd forgotten my walkie-talkie. "Don't know!" I answered. Adrenaline was the only thing that kept my feet going. I knew we'd come in the East Gate, and if the cells were in the center, then if we kept going straight, we were going to find the gate any second. "Keep straight!" I instructed. I saw his head bob slightly, acknowledging my delayed direction. Then Adam cried out beside me, and I stopped short. I reached for his body involuntarily as he pitched forward, nearly causing him to take me down with him. My left hand was soaking wet from where it had landed on his shoulder. I winced as I tried to steady him, not daring to look at what I knew would be a pool of blood in my hand. ☁ Now that they have a new ally on their side, they're looking to change the United States for good. At some point, they want every camp freed and every teenager home safe. But each new camp brings an endless supply of new challenges. Things are beginning to spin out of control. Follow each of them as they discover who they are, who they love, and more of their country's secrets than they could ever dream of in a thrilling trilogy told from all five points of view.

The two of us roll down the hill of daisies, laughing as we race to the bottom. "I roll faster than you!" I laugh aloud as I get up. "Not true! I'm fastest-er in the whole world!" The blurry boy stands straight and folds his arms, puffing his chest out. "I'm going to be King, so I better be fastest-er-est!" The two of us laugh again before the energy dies down. "Is it true you're leaving?" I ask, a small frown forming on my mouth. The boy slowly nods, unfolding his arms and looking down. "Daddy says that bad people will hurt us if we don't." Tears start streaming down my face as I beg "Please don't go, ______!" I hug the boy, petting his curly hair. "I'm sure my parents will take care of you." "Daddy says I'm going with him, so I can't stay with you, Khione." The boy pulls away before saying "there is a way for us to find each other again, though!" He smiles before pulling something out of his pocket. Highest So Far: 162 in Vampire
