Haunted Past

Family secrets have haunted Uncle Spencer all his life, isolating him inside an autistic mind. But when these secrets reach out into the world of his nephew Jake they create nightmares, ghosts, and visions that tell of a family history too horrible to believe.
The twelve-year-old boy just moved from Missouri to Maine and is immediately confronted by mysteries. Why is his grandmother so secretive? What are those noises he is hearing at night? Why does he have nightmares of ships and death?
Trapped within Uncle Spencer’s mind is the truth that the Merrill family has been hiding from the rest of Maine and the whole country for over a century. It is a truth that many New England families have hidden in an effort to put their past evil behind them. Jake has to face off against a historical evil spirit bent on revenge. Not satisfied with haunting the minds of past generations the evil spirit wants to capture a new generation of Merrill’s within a wall of insanity unless Jake can bring it to rest.
Will he be able to do it? Will he be strong enough to travel into his uncle’s autistic mind, where words become walls blocking the routes back to sanity and logic? Or will Jake become the next generation’s victim of the insanity plaguing his family?
