Trying to be nice to a downed vampire behind a dumpster ruins that plan. And no, he's not in love. He's at war. And being the weak humans that they are, they're dragged in to serve as blood banks. Even if the girls could punch their way out, one of their captors is a 500-year-old winged demon and the other is a powerful business tycoon. So much for, you know, a future.
Still, perhaps Lea's kindness and Sky's sass can be their kidnappers' undoing. Yet behind it all, something stronger, something older, something hungrier is spreading the vampiric infection, and the general public is catching on.
A romantic horror with an emphasis on vampires that definitely don't sparkle.

Everyone has heard of the classic stereotypical vampire love store. Powerful figurehead vampire male becomes attracted to young human female. At first they aren't attracted but as time goes on, they begin to fall madly in love. Then there is the story of a male vampire who has done unspeakable evils as a vampire and is eternally brooding and even though he can't help what he is, he tries to be the good, kind hearted lover for his human female. Or better yet, the female finds out her lover is a vampire and begs and pleads to be turned to live eternally young and thus tries everything in her power to become a vampire but the male vampire refuses to turn her so that she does not live a cursed life. After a mysterious man begins to befriend her while working at her job, a night of sex turns into the start of everything she thought she could handle into a whirlwind of challenges. It's easy to kill a person in the movies or in a book because it's fiction. But actually suck the life out of a living being and it be her new reality, that's a whole different ballgame. Nadine Burns must now learn to face being a Newborn vampire in a world where there is no kindhearted feelings and sunshine and rainbows. To top it all, she was turned by one of the most powerful vampire leaders in her city and must also learn how to parade around in vampire politics.Complete

My hands behind me shake as I sit on the floor, the figure steps closer to me. His handsome face is shown by the light of the moon. The eyes I've seen many time soon become teary as he stares at me. "I'm so sorry." ___________ Sage Paul, a junior in high school suffers a traumatic loss in her family. Which causes her to lose trust in many people and become paranoid. After a terrible day of school a trip to the grocery store becomes violent. She watches the death of a man, all of his blood drained out of his pale body by four tall dangerous men. The men kidnap her, but one sticks out of all of them. She soon falls in love but he wants their love to immortal. One of the men knows she is special, Sage is shattered, will one of them be able to pick up the pieces and put her back together but in a twisted way? The longer Lana stays in the house the more she comes to terms with her possible future as a creature from a fantasy novel. Lana spends the month trying to come to terms with her impending future while trying to deny her attraction to her captor. I love it :D - WARNINGS I've received some feedback that the relationship portrayed is abusive; just as a trigger warning. There is no (with a single exception) pain for the sake of harming anyone. I'd say it is more on the forceful side, especially with the vampire-setting, and the vampire may act questionable and egocentric. Also, depression and I'd say a suicidal tendency do come up (briefly) because of these thoughtless interactions. And, uh, "Stockholm Syndrome" was mentioned, but also in the context of an overall enjoyable read. - Finished story. There are two sequels.
