"A mystic has been forced to my home of Sola, wielding a suppressed power that flips the world I know on its head. And I, Raign Yrth, am going to take that power for my own."

Thaum grants the ability to manipulate objects and augments physical capabilities. It is the source of the royal bloodline's power and legitimacy. It is also illegal on pain of death.

The enigmatic substance is how Raign Yrth, son of the mob boss Fyr Yrth, gets a cutting edge over his enemies. Although Thaum can melt the imbiber from the inside out or drive them mad, it is the greatest weapon known throughout the Crescent Coast - in the hands of those who have the will, intelligence, and skill to use it effectively.

That is, until Raign encounters a captured mystic who can use magick without the use of Thaum. A woman whom every major player in Auretheos is scrambling for, including rival gangs, the Queen, and even Raign's own father. The power she holds will determine who controls Sola, the capital of Auretheos, and by extension, the entire Crescent Coast. Maybe even beyond.

And that's a prospect Raign Yrth would never pass up.

Forced to leave behind his life on Earth, Max begins a precarious journey into the unknown world of magic. [Book cover made by: Zenith0082 (me) on Postermywall.com] !Okay- LOTS of credit to Postermywall, Fantasynamegenerators, Rollforfantasy, Makeavatar.io, ifaketextmessage.com and Kamira's Puppy Maker on Dolldivine. Most of the pictures in this series will contain images made with the help of these websites. This story is mainly a boring build-up and a sort of backstory about how they all got their powers. Nothing super special and there will be characters that will return in a future prequel which I should've published now- 20/08/2024 - Now, this is being written before actually being published. I've been out of it lately and my writing has kind of lost even my own interest and been less exciting, especially after two of my closest friends (online) died. The ending to this is done poorly, which I will humbly acknowledge, and I will update stuff when I find the time and when my mind is right again. In the meantime, Book 2 is already being worked on. I apologise in advance for any plot holes or explanations that might not exist, and for any mistakes or typos in the story. I'm currently very tired, heavily lacking self-confidence and wishing I could do other stuff instead of this, but I do enjoy writing.
