Hayes Daweson is a pet loving, quiet, hardworking person with a drive to get out of her crappy home situation. She works two jobs and is a full time college student. Home is supposed to be the place you go to relax and wind down and get away from the terrors of the world, not for her. She's hiding something from everyone around her, something big.

Tate Jones is a caring, tough, hard around the edges girl with seemingly nothing that scares her. Until she meets Hayes. She gives Tate something to be afraid of, caring about someone other than herself. In Tate's line of work that can easily get the ones you care about seriously hurt, or worse. Hayes easily breaks through Tate's rough exterior soon after the two girls meet.

Will Hayes be able to let Tate in to her high built walls? Will Tate get over her fears of letting her get close? What will happen when the girls find out about the others' pasts and presents'.
