Addie, whom everyone believes is an ordinary teenage girl, has a secret. Her father's bookshop is not really a bookstore, it's just a cover for what lies beneath a hatch in the floor-a supernatural library.
Addie's father is the caretaker of a supernatural library. There are many secret passageways and dangers in the library, and Addie deals with them on a daily basis as she trains to be the library's next caretaker.
For Addie, becoming the library's caretaker is her everything, but there is one problem. Addie is not human, and only humans are allowed to care for the library. But what will happen when a new patron shows up and shows Addie an entirely new world? Will she choose to be a Keeper, or will she choose to be a sorceress?
