Content Warnings Applicable to This Story: This book is set in the early 1800s, and I don't want to avoid talking about the horrendous things that happened to people of colour then. It will talk about slavery, but from a firm anti-slavery perspective, never glorifying or making excuses for it. Cafi itself is a fictional country and while I absolutely believe they would have had slave trade too (because most places did and I don't want to pretend they didn't), I want the book to include Oliver's fight to abolish slavery in his country.
