Cassia Winslow was one of the few humans who knew about the dark creatures that prowled deep within the waters, and she had already paid the price, or so she thought.
**

Having been ripped apart by the loss of her family to sirens, Cassia became a ruthless siren hunter. Leading a team of siren hunters, Cassia wanted to kill as many of them as possible. Love took a gamble as Asher Berkshire--a man from a different reign, joins Cassia, plunging toward a sea of horrors.

But Cassia's already crumbling life, took a dark turn as the sirens came out from the sea and began to stain the land with blood. Like a game of chess, endangering the lives of each person Cassia held dear. While Cassia finds herself drawn deeper into the dark, deep marine world, she tries to unravel the blurred layers of water that sheltered the truths of the sirens. But time is ticking, and within her, Cassia has a fearful truth: one that could ruin everything.

After all, the creatures in depth are born there because of what they are capable of.

NOTE: You do not need to know anything about sirens to read this story. It has no connection to its Greek mythology roots either.

( discontinued to be rewritten ) Huntingtown was panicking; no one knew where the sirens were coming from. There was no electricity, and there was no way for the storm Sirens to be sounding, yet they were. The entire Town was awake; everyone had a weapon. They had grabbed guns, knives, swords, and bats if they could be wielded and used for self-defense; Renee aimed her rifle at the trees, looking desperately for an explanation. Why would a siren sound? They only sounded when they were in Danger, so where was the Danger? When the predators revealed themselves, that was where the siren noise was coming from. Renee could feel her heart jump into her throat. Her face went pale; they were here. They had found the Town. Terror and panic soon swept Huntingtown; everyone knew what those monsters could do. After all, they did conquer the planet and impose the "choosing." Huntingtown was created hoping that its isolation in a cold climate would keep the Predators away, but it didn't. A voice came over those speakers. A male voice Gruff and laced with a growl. It was almost as if whoever was speaking was annoyed and angry. "Although I have enjoyed seeing your little Town outmaneuver many hunters. I am afraid this is where your little games end. However, I will give you a chance to keep your freedom. A hunt. You will be red by your best hunter, Renee Madison." Renee felt her blood go cold as she stared wide-eyed at the ship. She was unknowingly dropping her gun at the news. " she will be your leader; she will be my prize. You have a time advantage. Go!" The ship took off, looking for a place to land, all while the news sank into the Town's residence. Renee had known she had fucked up when she fired at one of those predators and hit him. She had proven herself worthy of the hunt. Now she has to face the consequences, not only her but her entire Town had to. Renee had to win this hunt; the fate of her Town depended on it.
The Mermaid's Key: A Novella by JeremyBennett2
12 parts Complete
After his grandfather Theo's passing, James sets about clearing and cleaning up his grandfather's belongings before the estate sale when he runs into something peculiar. A box made of shells, worn shut with time, and hidden in the dark recesses of the past. The contents: a key, a brass heart, a journal and letters that leave behind a glimpse into a part of his grandfather's life that James never expected - a world of ancient magic, witches and wizards, mermaids and a love story strong enough to break any heart. The legends are real, partly. Atargatis, the first mermaid, was an ancient witch thrown into the sea by the hostile and fearful townspeople who didn't understand the magic they knew and sensed. What they didn't see was the consequences of their actions, Atargatis' use of magic and the creation of the mermaid with all of its magical abilities. Centuries later Ariana, a young daughter of the clan leader, lives her life in torment, torn between her love of everything under the ocean and the beauty of the boundless sky above. She discovers Theodore, a human, and falls so much in love that she can't fathom a life without him - an ideal that she will go to any length to stand by. What you think you know is but a small part of a much larger story, one that before now has never been told. Love is simply a transfer of energy from one of us to another, all of us connected in a web that we simply label "The Universe." Love and sacrifice have consequences, some which can never be foreseen.
