mike, a 15 year-old boy living indiana, can't die. he knows this and tries to keep a normal life knowing everyone around him will someday die and he wouldn't be able to go with them. mike is what people would call a loser, he reads, doesn't have many friends and eats with the nerds and freaks at lunch. but then he meets a boy, will byers, during freshman year, will is the opposite, many friends, sits with the basketball team, not because he plays but because he's friends with lucas who's on the team. he and will grow close and become more than friends. but the worst has to happen.
