Charcoal and briquettes are materials obtained by partial combustion or carbonization (destructive distillation) of organic matter. This is mostly pure carbon. The entry of air during the carbonization process is controlled so that the organic matter does not turn to ash, as in conventional fires, but decomposes to form charcoal. The characteristics of charcoal products (clumps, briquettes, or extrusion forms) vary greatly from product to product. Coconut charcoal from Indonesia is ready to export oversea.
