The Searching Game
It's been essentially a year since Zoey ran away from her friends and family. Everyone struggled with her disappearance, some more than others. Now that everyone's lives were calm, and Quinn graduated, she and Griffin were going to search. With the backing of the Taylors siblings, Quinn and Griffin would start a search party across the United States. They weren't sure how long this journey would take, or if they would find the one they missed. Zoey was finally enjoying a simple and 'drama' free life with her two roommates in New York. They all worked hard to get by, but everything was split equally. Zoey missed the privacy of a bedroom, but a couch was enough. She was content and set on sticking by her new families side, considering they helped clean her up and return her mental state to functional. By working two jobs, Z hoped to move somewhere with them that had a room for her too. Little did she know life had other plans... "I want to help you." His bright eyes sparkle in the moonlight. "You can't help me! You hurt me!" By now, the tears I had been desperately trying to hold back finally slip out. "They hurt you!" As he yells, the anger in his voice eases out; his eyes are filled with familiar sadness. "I have nowhere else to go." I shoot back, taking a step away from him, afraid he will strike me as everyone else does. As soon as he notices this, his eyes widen, and his fists relax. "Come with me." He responds, hope gleaming in his eyes. I look up at the bright moon shining down on us as the breeze ruffles my hair. "Come with you?" I question. Just as he nods my dizziness takes over, sending me to the ground. His hands wrap around me, barely catching me. "Don't let them hurt me." I whisper, looking into his eyes, trying to not let the spinning world take me. "They won't hurt you anymore. Ever." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tivelly always seemed like the popular girl, always filling the room with her laughs and bright smiles. No one had noticed the excess of makeup that would occasionally be used to hide the bruises. The words "I love you" being foreign to her. Kaiden has always been one of the guys that her attention is always brought to. The heartthrob every girl wants, but no one ever gets. It took one drunk Tivelly and a Kaiden in his right mind to get them to form a friendship. They both have baggage that weighs on their hearts heavily.
