Hawkpaw hopes to one day be like his older brother, Twistedwish, who is the current deputy of their Clan ThistleClan. His brother encourages him and his ambitions, secretly training him and passing down his wisdom to him. Things go downhill however when Twistedwish is banished from the Clan. Hawkpaw is never told why, but he continues achieving to become like his brother, which begins to scare every cat in ThistleClan. 

When a great war between the three Clans breaks out, Hawkhope hears a shocking revelation: Twistedwish had secretly been training with the Dark Forest in hopes of becoming leader of all Clans and the forest and secretly trained Hawkhope so that he could follow in his pawsteps too. Armed with this knowledge, the ThistleClan deputy must do everything in his power to stop his war hungry brother from winning.All Rights Reserved

But when a strange cat takes his sister out of StreamClan on the day of their apprentice ceremony, he quickly realizes such hope has become impossible. Sunpaw just wants to prove to his clan, BreezeClan that he can become a great warrior. But it isn't as easy as it sounds. Even though his rival apprentice Slowpaw is much younger than him, he is always beaten in battle training and he can never catch nearly as much prey. His mentor doesn't make it any better either. Pounceheart is always treating him like some helpless kit and he worries he'll never be able to complete his warrior assessment. Being a healer who suffers from severe anxiety isn't easy, but Twitchpaw knows as long as her mentor is there, she can get through it. But as tensions rise between FlameClan and CliffClan, she's worried about the future ahead of them.
