When Aubrey Mitchell is forced to move from her home in Minnesota to Beacon Hills, she is unsurprised by the small-town gossip about her life, and the unease she feels at being completely disrupted from the only normality that she knows. Her father and best friends are two thousand miles away, and it is only thanks to the unforeseen friendship with her neighbour and the support of her older brother that she manages to survive in her new environment.
What Aubrey doesn't expect, however, is to be thrown face-first into a mystery that starts with a series of animal attacks and ends with the two social casualties that everyone else around her seems to turn away.
She especially doesn't expect to find anyone like Scott and Stiles.
