My Unhappy Beginning

16 year old Melody Pond feels like she has the whole world on her shoulders. Everyday she walks around with a smile on her face but in reality, she is in a living hell. Her mother is dead, everyone bullies her at school, and her family is very poor. Not only is she and her brother being physically abused by their own father, they are very close to closing down their life. Melody's only friend Liam doesn't know about Melody's father's aggressive actions, and starts to get worried when Melody comes to school with cuts and scars. Will there be hope for Melody?
