After the events of Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, the Pi'illo Kingdom has been slowly recovering and rebuilding its society.
When Prince Dreambert is invited to a new kingdom named Pythyria in search of an alliance, things get chaotic quickly when an unexpected guest joins in: Bedsmith.
As the two Pi'illos learn to tolerate each other and possibly form a stronger bond together, they discover a nasty plot targeting the new kingdom... and possibly the entire world.
And it's up to them to save everything.
