Imagine, just for a second, let's imagine you end up somehow travelling into your favourite book. Then you started working your magic and you cosy up to the male lead who was supposed to get you killed or you make the demon lord fall in love with you so he can protect you from your imminent death. And woah you got your happy ending. But now let's imagine a completely different scenario where you end up in a book you read like 10 pages of (including the ending). And you find yourself literally dropped into the lap of a psychopathic rival who enjoys just a teeny bit of bloodshed. He's also the guy who killed your favourite character and not to mention you. But then you hold on for a second because you realise you're not dead and he wants to use you as an immortal tool to sharpen his aim. Well that's the story I ended up living in. Shortlisted for the Open Novella Contest 2019 • Being a Supervillain is tough. Between managing a secret lair and making sure your mom doesn't stop loving you because you keep telling everyone she's dead, it's a really hard business to be good at? Add to that, the fact that somehow you got arrested because your cat sitter didn't take the day off and then you go around expressing your unconditional love for pancakes in a Super holding cell because technically they can't put you in a proper prison and you don't really have a choice because lawyers are expensive? And then, you realise your best friend is plotting go take over your spot as the greatest villain there ever was? Okay, maybe not the greatest, but you do come pretty close to it! To top it off, there's that one Superhero who's just so completely gorgeous, you couldn't imagine any harm coming to them? Because they're just that precious? I guess that makes me a Supervillain with minor time travel superpowers and a huge crush on a not so powerful Superhero? And all you have to do is protect yourself and everyone you love from your ex best friend/sidekick --because let's face it that's the highest level of praise for a wretched traitor here--and you also have to get out of Super Holding somehow? Loving A Villain
I shouldn't have been walking around alone at night. I shouldn't have stopped and watch the obviously crazy man set the building on fire. And I sure of hell shouldn't have accidentally caught his attention. Then maybe, just maybe I wouldn't have been kidnapped by the world's most evil super villain. And then hopefully right now I wouldn't be wishing that he wasn't completely crazy, and wanted to kill every super hero in the world, and that he would, I don't know, take me to the movies, hold my hand as we walked together, or maybe take me to dinner one night. You know normal, cute couple stuff. Instead he likes to kick puppies when no ones watching, dropping me from high buildings, and throwing people into traffic, annoyingly. "You are kidding me, right?" I asked, narrowing my eyes. "Do I seem like I am kidding?" "No, you don't. But I also don't feel that I will listen to you." I said, giving him my infamous innocent smile Me!!! Clean his shoes?!! Who in the hell does he think he is?!! "You will. [FINISHED] :) I kept my eyes glued to the scene behind my eldest brother Colton. My youngest brother Jared was dragging a man into one of the rooms in my brothers' house. The man was blindfolded and his hands were tied together. He was hunched over in pain and he had blood stains scattered all over his clothes. He looked tired and beaten.. "You couldn't have had worse timing." My brother groaned out in frustration as he released his grip on me "Well I'm sorry. It's not like there's anything I could do to prevent our parents' death."
