The world went to hell a long time ago. When the vampires stepped out of the shadows and into the light the reign of humanity ended and the time of the vampires began.
In order to keep some sort of peace in the world, the Vampire aristocrats made a deal with what little remained of the human government.
The rich and powerful humans could survive just as they always have, untouched by the vampires, though not nearly as privileged. The poor and the working class had a much worse fate.
Money and work became hard to get and those that paid well were. . . unconventional. Vogue vampires prowled the streets, lurking in the darkness, just waiting to feed on their next victim. It is the job of Vampire Seekers to protect humans and vampires alike from these predators who threaten the precarious peace between species.
Maria is Lloyd is a Vampire Seeker. Two years ago a near lethal incident nearly ended her life. Since that incident Maria no longer hunts vogue vampires, but the runaway human mates of vampires. Delivering mates to their vampire is what she does best, until her name is called.
The draft, the very test which is proven to match humans to their vampire mates. Her mate? Princess Velika Demonte, heir to throne, and her best friends sister.
