Death is what comes to people like a thief in the night, snatching them with no intentions of bringing them back. Death is a nagging parent that you try to outsmart time and time again but no matter how many times you may think you have outsmarted them, in the end they will have the last word. Death is the old friend that nobody likes and yet you cannot live without. Death is many things but I never thought it would be my lover. Kore lives alone with her controlling mother, Demi. She hasn't seen any other person besides her homeschool teacher since she was a little girl after a mysterious incident happened at school one day that her mother refuses to talk to her about. She keeps her locked away on a farm and only lets her go out occasionally. It isn't until her cat dies and after picking him up, becomes alive again when she realizes why her mother has locked her away for all these years. She discovers she has the gift of healing. When she confronts her mother about it, her mother reveals to her that they are not human but in fact, Goddesses trapped inside human vessels to protect Kore from the Gods who want to marry her. But things only get worse when one day, as Kore is picking flowers in the meadow, there is an earthquake and she is taken up by this earthquake and falls into the arms of none other than Hades. "Kiss me." He whispers. "I-I don't know how...I've never done this before." I frantically whisper and tilt my head. My nose slightly brushes against his, and all of my instincts tell me to dive into him with the most passionate kiss I could create. I wanted to be closer, and feel every part of him against me. "Can I kiss you?" He asks through an intoxicating whisper. His lips teasingly hover over mine, and without thinking I finally press my lips against his. His lips matched mine perfectly like a puzzle, and I wrap my arms around his neck to pull him closer. His hands trail up my back, and the euphoric bursts of pleasure take my senses into over drive. He starts to part his lips, and his tongue slowly enters through my lips to play with mine. He tastes of sweet wine, and I feel my hands sliding up to grip his hair. I let out a slight moan into his lips, and my breath grows heavy. We part for a gasp of air before meeting back with more of my muffled moans. A faint thud-like sound catches my attention, and I start to pull away to see what made the sound. My lips retreat, and I take a faint breath before clearing my mind to think logically. As I pull away, his lips simply continue to kiss my chin and down my cheek. Another gasp slips from my lips, and this one echos through the hall. "I..I think...I...I heard something." I whisper as quietly as possible. He lightly pulls away to take a small breath before smiling. "I didn't hear anything. It's nothing." He pushes aside.... During the ancient times of Greece, lives the daughter of Demeter, Persephone. All her life has been sheltered from the mortal and immortal world. When her desire for a taste of freedom goes too far, she seals a deal with a man she will never escape... Enjoy this retelling of the Greek myth of Hades and Persephone! She snapped her head up to meet his eyes, searching for any sign he wanted to take his words back, but there was no remorse. And just like that, she fell ever so slightly more in love with him.
