After a mission in Albania, Nicki Mitchell "phantom"was called to take part in an elite program to train along with other pilots for a mission non of them were prepared for.
This Programm is rather known as TOPGUN.
Her apprentice happen to be her own father Pete Mitchell "maverick" whom she hasn't seen for quite some time and among the other pilots was one she had a past with.
Rooster and her knew each other since they were little kids and after they graduated from flight school, they got separated ways.
