It's been around ten minutes, but I haven't heard anything. Just then I heard a door close, probably the front door to the house or apartment. I heard slow footsteps stop in front of the door, then it slowly opened. "Good, you're awake." I couldn't see his face. "Last time I checked you weren't." He kept looking down. "It's nice to see you again," he looked up to me, revealing his face. I was shocked, "Uraraka." "Deku?" I ask. I couldn't believe it. No, it has to be a trick. Maybe Toga. Has to be. "They said you were dead." Honestly this is my first story, and I'm not sure if it's that great. But if you have some extra time, I would love for you to read and give me feedback. If you haven't seen the fight with Overhaul... you can read, but you won't understand some things. I have already completed the story, so I'm not taking recommendations or anything. Katsuki Bakugou was almost completely deaf. He could barely hear his own explosions anymore, but that didn't stop him from trying to become a pro hero. He couldn't wait to prove everyone wrong when they said he couldn't be a hero because of his hearing loss. He manages to pass the UA entrance exams and gets accepted, along with his childhood friend, Midoriya. They're placed in class 1-A with the luck that the home room teacher actually knows asl. The transition from middle school to high school isn't the smoothest. Navigating through high school and the pro hero world is hard for someone with all five senses, let alone someone who couldn't hear. Katsuki stumbles... a lot. When Midoriya catches him staring at the duel haired boy in their class during training, he's quick to tease him for it. They sign quickly, Katsuki's movements for aggressive than normal. They gain the attention of Shoto Todoroki, who in turn, stares back. It was obvious that they were signing about him, but he had no clue what they were saying. Katsuki catches on to the staring and signs at him, even though he can't understand. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Katsuki turns to the taller boy, clearly in a pissed off mood. "Yes, I am signing about you." He signs at him, knowing that he won't understand him anyway. Midoriya's laugh was heard through the training ground as he saw what his friend signed. Shoto looked at him, completely lost. "He says that yes, he is signing about you." He translated. Understanding takes over Shoto's features as Katsuki realizes what Midoriya must have just done. Out of the kindness of his heart, Todoroki agrees to do Bakugou's homework assignments for him so he can work on becoming a stronger hero. But Todoroki has a condition of his own. Broken Faith
What happens when his faith in his heroes finally breaks? What happens when he finally had enough? What happens when he doesn't believe in UA anymore? What happens when he is done giving UA chances to fix the things right in front of them? What if he no longer looks up to All Might? What if his best friend Shouto Todoroki offered his hand to start over somewhere else? This is how Izuku Midoriya finally breaks after the repeated failures of the UA high school and its teachers. They allowed repeated assaults and attempted murder to happen without punishment and never did anything to fix it. Instead, they forced Izuku to partner up with the person that kept hurting him for the final exam where Katsuki Bakugo just hurt him once again. As such, Shouto Todoroki and Izuku Midoriya decided to change their lives. Why stay where the teachers don't care? Why not leave to another hero school? - Note - Endeavor is better in this. After the sports festival, he drastically changed due to the words that Izuku said and saw what he did for his son. He ended up visiting his wife in the mental hospital to talk to her and he came to so many realizations. He apologized to her and promised to do better and have her released from the hospital to return home if she wished or to move into a new home at her desire. This shocked the family and they were willing to hear him out and see his change. Touya Todoroki aka Dabi is an undercover hero for the hero commission in this AU. The family is aware of him being an underground hero. Dabi did it as a form of protest against his father since he wanted him to go into the spotlight but refused and went underground heroics. The family doesn't know his undercover look or name but he does return home often when he can. (He does not have the scars permanently. They are due to a quirk that changes his looks.)
