Valentin meets Casper on one sunny fall day in late September. Wearing his black jumpsuit, which came down to her knees and had pistachio ice cream stains right in the center. With his black boots, one of which was missing the sole, and his ripped jeans, showing the bruises on his knees. He had paint on his hands, nose, and chin. He was a complete disaster, but he can look like that. After all, he was checking into the juvenile rehabilitation center in Denver, Colorado. Casper just smiled at him, showing him the space he had between his teeth, before turning around and disappearing.
