Renaissance Solange is the type of girl who always plays by the rules. Certain about everything in life, she's always miles away from trouble. But fate has strange ways of messing with mortals and that's why they say that life is anything but certain.

Vance Hellwaters has lived a long life, and he was well-versed in the ways of mortals. But something about Renaissance has his thoughts stumbling- the girl was nothing like any mortal he had come across before. Entitled to the job of helping Rain's sister, the two learn that reviving her wasn't as simple as they thought. Rain is pushed into a world where she battles shadow and light creatures alike, desperate to save her sister.

With betrayal, lies, and death lurking in every corner, Rain realizes that everything that you are told isn't always true. And a certain demon by the name of Vance Hellwaters shows her that the line between good and evil is very thin indeed.
