Princesses do not cry. They do not show emotion. Even when the one they loved most broke their heart. With the threat of the Calamity looming, Princess Zelda must do all she can to prevent Hryule from falling into ruin - but with her relationship with the Hylian champion Link evolving, and her sacred power is yet to awaken, Zelda questions if she was ever meant to succeed at all.
This is an angsty Zelink fanfiction that loosely follows the plot of Breath of the Wild, though I will be changing many details. Neither The Legend of Zelda nor the characters belong to me. Thank you for reading :)

The Goddess Hylia appointed but two children to prevent the end of the world. The powers they were promised don't come easily, and after years of outright failure, Princess Zelda can't help but wonder if Hylia chose wrong.
