Danganronpa V3 has finally come to a conclusion, and everyone has awoken to discover that the killing game was all just virtual reality. The Ultimate students are faced with the challenge of adapting to their new lives with unfamiliar families, friends, and a whole new school, unable to retain all their memories from before the game. While Shuichi Saihara is faced with his own personal issues as he recovers, he finds that despite his misgivings, he tries to understand none other than Kokichi Ouma.

Why he lies so much, what lead him to do such brash things during the killing game, and what the hell was going through his head at any and all times. Who is he, really? Why did he want to save everyone who hated him so much? And how could he tell him that he was sorry? That.. he was wrong..?

It's been about a year since the thirteen of them woke from the living hell that was the Killing Game. Ever since, they've been living together in a strange new world where their old memories are next to meaningless. Kokichi still feels the effects of the game a year later; although, he only has himself to blame for not being able to get past his guilt. Still, he hopes to be able to, one day, feel like he has earned his place among the others and maybe even feel like he can belong. Despite the horrible memories, he gets out and tries to meet other people where he not only see familiar faces, such as Shuichi and Kaito but also unfamiliar ones such as Chihiro, Sakura and much more. The last thing he wanted is being stuck in another killing game with now 47 other people, and making sure it doesn't happened again, he has no choice, but to play the hero this time as much as he prefer playing the villain, he's gonna play the hero this time around to make sure to lessen the casualties

The other boy is insecure, intelligent, fearful, silent and mysterious. And him instead, Shuichi Saihara, The Ultimate Detective, is the one where everyone trusts and who thinks it will be their salvation to come out. But what could happen if one of the two notices the attraction towards the other? Would that be something strange? Unusual?
