It's the start of second year meaning class 1-a becomes 2-a, and the chaos still ensues. That's why it was so easy for the class to overlook Midoriya's odd behavior. Especially because he's good at hiding how he really feels from everyone, well almost everyone.
All Might had been pushing Midoriya to work harder and be stronger. What happens when Midoriya doesn't meet the expectations? He takes his quirk back. Midoriya does good at hiding the pain but there's one person who knows Midorya almost as well as he knows himself, or he used to. How will they act when one night katsuki watches midoriya break down underneath the darkness, and all he can see is the little kid that was his best friend. When he finds out that the person they had both looked up to their entire lives is not who they thought?
Possible romance (definitely gay) triggers will be posted for each chapter at the beginning
