The island of Gozo,Malta
Gozo is a very small island yet it is very abundant of history.Gozo lies in the middle of the Mediterranean and it is the second largest island of the maltese archipelago.Gozo is 13 kms in lenght and 9 kms in width.It is situated 5o kms south of the island of Sicily and 20 minutes ferry from it's sister island of Malta.

As a mother languge gozitan's speak maltese which is a semitic language.One can find many arabic words and also some italiand and french like Bongu (bonjour) and boswa (bonsoir)from french and grazzi (grazie)from the italian languages.

In Gozo there are thitteen villages;

Ghajnsielem
Xewkija
Sannat
Kercem
Zebbug
Gharb
San Lawrenz
Munxar
Ghasri
Fontana
The order of rthe village is done by side.Gozo like Malta is very catholic.Infact you can find at least one parish church in Gozo and in many cases several churches and chapels in each village.

Gozo was under the rule of many people from past times including the romans,arabs,english and french.Many left their imprint paricularly the arabs specially on the culture and fruit trees like oranges.All Rights Reserved
