Issei was the bastard son of a powerful lord from the Van Amstel family, a group of magicians that were blessed with a high affinity to use water magic. Issei and his mother were servants to the Van Amstel family, even Tho his father was the lord, him and his mother were treated like outcast, because Issei was a bastard, and his mother was a "filthy foreigner whore". One day Issei's mother died from an unknown illness, leaving him alone to fend for himself. When Issei was young, he had an abnormal high affinity for water magic. When Issei's father found out about this, he wanted Issei to be the next successor to the Van Amstel. Still bitter from his mother's death Issei declines the offer and disappointing his father even more. When his elder siblings heard of this, they started to bully him nonstop, even having sex with his so called "Girlfriend", tired of the abuse and the memories of the house that cause him so much pain he left the Netherlands to return to his mother homeland Japan. Arriving Japan Issei decided to become a detective just like his grandfather, arriving in the small town of Kuoh, Issei discovered a new power, the power of persona. Solving the mysteries of the weird phenomenon, issei's has to fight the shadows that lurks in men's hearts.
