The Kingdom of Adam - named for its reign of mortality - has become desperate. In order to stop a war from happening between them and the Kingdon of Ghoul - named for its reign of immortal vampires - they make a deal: The mortal king's daughter will marry the immortal king's son in eighteen years, bringing their kingdoms together so that more generations of vampires can live on. . . . Wren Bluebell is an illiterate, soft-spoken girl on the verge of turning eighteen. She has worked as a maid in the castle of the Kingdom of Adam since she was ten, caring for her younger, blind sister. She dreams of selling flowers in markets and owning a home with a beautiful garden to raise her sister. But her dreams are shattered when the human king forces her into a deal. He does not want to send his daughter - who's about to turn eighteen - to the vampire world. He does not want to combine kingdoms at all. Instead, the king decides to send Wren to the immortal realm. He's hoping to use Wren as a spy so that she can find a weakness in the immortal king that the Kingdom of Adam can use to win a war against the living and dead. But nothing could have prepared Wren for the shadows she's about to face.

A teen monster will stop at nothing to get power, even if that means eating the forbidden fruit that will forever bind her to the keeper of death itself. ***** After rejecting the Wolf King and refusing to be his docile, powerless bride, Korin escapes into the mountains in search of forbidden fruit. And while the legends say that anyone who eats the fruit will be enslaved to the keeper of death itself, Korin is confident she can become something more.
