Ted Mintz is a bootlegger down on his luck. His high school sweetheart has left him. His rum-running career is a wreck. It seems there is nothing left but to hang up his criminal hat and try to win back his love. There is only one problem--a fading cartoon film star has recruited Ted for one last job . . . and to refuse will cost Ted dearly.
Trapped inside a black and white world of cartoons, Ted must travel to Color Town--home of the popular character Freddy Frog. There, he must wipe out the Technicolor star from movie screens forever . . . or else become part of the cartoon world himself.

Astren City, and all surrounding area, have the highest crime rate in the northern part of the country. Dozens of crime families constantly trying to take the throne, as well as corruption lurking around every corner, do not aid in that fact at all. Salem Heart's father, Jack Heart, happens to be the Astren City Chief of Police, a title which holds a lot of weight and a rank that claims even more power. He's well respected, and amazing at his job. That said, greatness is expected of Salem as well. Of course that isn't a problem, Salem will always be loyal to the law. He was raised by it, and upholding it is his future career aspiration. He thinks he has his life figured out.
