Sixteen-year-old Narcissa Black is her family's only hope of full redemption after her sister Andromeda brought a taint to their name.

She knows she won't fail Mother and Father. She is steadily working to earn the attentions of the beautiful Lucius Malfoy, two years her senior and seemingly entirely unaware of her existence or pining feelings. Besides, she is everything they'd ever hoped for: obedient and fully adherent to their pureblood beliefs, and hauntingly gorgeous; an icy beauty with the elegant grace of a swan and the reserved, well-mannered charm Bellatrix so lacked.

She gets excellent grades, but that won't matter anyway once she graduates and marries a wealthy, prestigious pureblood. Which is exactly why it is so crucial to get Lucius to notice her. She only wants him.

Well, as far as she is willing to admit. She certainly doesn't have her eyes on another, much less a dreaded GRYFFINDOR. And certainly not a GIRL. And most importantly, certainly not Molly Prewitt.

Especially since she knows Molly couldn't possibly like her back. In fact, the redhead despised the pale and cold Narcissa Black. She'd made that very clear within their second ever year at Hogwarts.
