Chapter 1
Ian's Perspective
The week started with rain and fog, which is usually absent here in California. Looking out the window confirmed what I had first suspected about the weather. I sighed and got up, letting the blinds close by themselves. I stumbled over to the light switch and flipped it up weakly. I covered my eyes.

"Too bright, man, too bright." I shut the lights back off, now I couldn't see anything. Could I do anything correctly? My hands felt the objects to find my way to the pantry. They reached the island and I walked straight along the edge and reached out for the doorknob when I reached the end. I finally grabbed it and twisted to swing the door open.

I turned the pantry light on which happens to be dimmer than the kitchen light to my luck. I searched for some cereal or maybe a toaster pastry rather frantically but I wasn't finding anything.

"This is ridiculous." I continued for a short time but in the end there was nothing to eat.
