This book is about a sixteen year old girl named Mackenzie.
Athletic, Pretty, Smart
But she was the one to hold a very big secret.

Mackenzie as a little girl had been physically abused and raped. Her father that was there always when her mother went to work, had been the abuser of all these horrible things. She finally had moved away from that place. As Mackenzie grew older she began to slowly forget about her father and all the abuse she had endured for 7 long years of her life. She had finally had her anxiety and PTSD under somewhat control, until one day everything changed. Her abusive father, who had suddenly made his presence known.

As a child, Mackenzie's father had been apart of a very violent gang. This gang was involved with many different types of crimes and drug deals. It was part of the family, as her father would say so, she was forcefully put into this lifestyle. Her father had not gotten out of the gang life and had suddenly brought it back to her.  Mackenzie was around a lot of weed and lots of alcohol. She was taught at a very young age everything about how to help out the gang with all their crimes. The memories of everything still stuck with her, giving her horrifying nightmares every time she closed her eyes. 

She has always felt so alone in all these troubles. She was depressed and didn't know where to begin. Her best friend Justin helped her through the loss of her best friend Sammi and all her problems that she faced everyday. He wanted to be there for her every step of the way. Each and every day she fell a little more and more for Justin. Could he be the one to win her over and make her trust again? Could he make her whole again?

Mackenzie never got to choose her life or how she wanted to live it. Would this be her chance to stand up and fight back against her father and the gang? Or will she follow in his footsteps, like she had done as a child?
