The Winged
Surviving can be difficult when you're only a few inches tall. Fanged beasts see you as their prey, every creature is bigger than you, and the world seems to work against small things. Not to mention the struggles of getting from place to place... but the worst of it all? Humans. Once a year, every year, summer sweeps over the forest. The sun warms the leaves and the damp melts away until the world of the Winged flourishes. Those warm months are when survival becomes the hardest. Drawn by the beauty of the forest, humans of all kind invade the already dangerous home of the small Winged people. Fear of these monsters is shared throughout the tribes. One sacred piece of advice is known: avoid humans at all costs. They know only how to destroy and hurt. ___ Despite the protests of her close friend, Azure accepts a mission that takes her from the safety of her tribe. The Forest
Ernwood Forest is home to people living hidden from the prying eyes of humans; the Winged and their tribes. These people stand no taller than a few centimetres off the ground, meaning that things can sometimes get a little difficult... especially when humans are involved. But life isn't all bad. For the first time ever, Azure and the tribes have a human of their own protecting them from the sinister forces beyond the edge of the trees. As the months of winter roll in, nights are growing longer and snow has settled on the leafless branches. The forest is still. The only humans anyone expects to see are the few that know of the tiny people's existence. But the tribes are not alone in the forest anymore. The abductions begin. The past awakens. And a long forgotten shadow falls over the forest. Azure and the others once again find themselves having to fight to prevent their family from being ripped apart- only this time, things are different.
