[Book 3 of the ARC10 Trilogy] It has been five Earth years since the ten Alien Relocation Carriers (ARCs) abandoned their destroyed home planet. According to the plan, they should be approaching their final destination-the exoplanet NOHA. But Janika Lorn wouldn't know anything about that. She ditched her commanding position aboard ARC10 and the ARC caravan in exchange for a life of freedom under the often-infuriating employment of Captain Shin-Hyun Moon. With her young son and a burgeoning found family aboard the HMS Valediction, Janika finally eases into a happy life she never thought she could have. Her peace is disrupted by a mysterious SOS from Commander Dean Freyer, her previous partner, lover, and best friend on Earth. Despite the threat of losing all she's gained, she's sucked back into the ARCs' mission to expose the government's deadly lies. This time, instead of diving head-first without a plan, Janika concocts a scheme to steal away the entire refugee population and bring them aboard the floating fortress, the Starhold Vesta. With her partner, Nuna Kinnawah at her side, and her son safely stowed away in their home, Janika leads a mission to save the people of Earth from their forsaken fate at the hands of an inept president protected by a new, secret, lethal army, and an inhospitable new home planet. As if this mission wasn't already off to a doomed beginning, the violent space pirate, Strom, sets his greedy sights on commandeering the gold trade that keeps the HMS Valediction and Stronghold Vesta floating. With this new threat of bloodshed to her family and livelihood, Janika's must decide between saving her father and the people of her past, or securing the safety of her son and the future she had always dreamed of.

I am not from this planet. Hell, I am technically not from this galaxy. However, that doesn't change the fact I am here now, and my job is to save what I can on this forsaken planet and what's left of its inhabitants. The problem is that not everyone wants to be saved. I know what you're thinking. You can't save those who don't want to be saved. I bloody well agree. The ones who sent me don't care what you or I think, though. All they care about is numbers. They need a certain success rate to continue to get funding for their "expeditions" and "peacekeeping" efforts. I use both terms loosely here. However, that's what they put on their records, and it's what sounds good and looks suitable to their investors. So this is the way it's going to be. So be it! Oh, did I forget to mention the Universe decided I was the lucky girl to help find the one person who could save us all from self-destruction? Yea, that is a shitty idea, but once again, no one cares what I think.
