apoctoliptic cultural future magic mutants

In the year 5000 there was a nuclear war. It is now the year 5500, and life has started flourishing again. We have re-created electricity and running water (more or less the same quality as the current tap water) but we are still dealing with mutants. We have dispatched a team of five teenagers, each with a different power, to destroy them. Such as controlling elements like fire, water, etc.

The radiation killed or transformed the living. Animals turned into hybrids and humans, well that's an interesting story. The school was created people for people like me. Everything started in 2036. The pollution was so bad that the end of the world was predicted to be right around the corner. As complete panic set in around the world, the rich and important people were all gathered and placed on giant spaceships with enough resources and room to house generations of human beings. Before they left though, the government leaders fired As a result, most of the human population died off and earth was a complete wasteland. The little that survived started building local communities and trying to survive in the destroyed excuse of a planet. On the disaster of a planet, creatures mutated and were born out of the nuclear chemicals; creating new species and monsters that hunted humans. While hundreds and hundreds of years passed, the monsters kept evolving and the people kept adapting while still trying to keep a sort of community. They didn't want to lose all of their humanity and become nothing more than animals that hunted the monsters: then they would truly be no better than the monsters themselves. So they stayed civil while still doing what it took to survive.

The Year is 7984 and Pangea has reformed, destroying all of humanity's civilisation, killing everyone that lived on the surface, but some of humanity was still alive because the managed to escape Earth before the continents collided, but when they revisit, the planet is very different, forcing humans to form groups to protect each other against other survivors and evolved animals.

BOOK 2 After chaos destroyed, America fell into pandemonium and there was no communication with the U.S. After a pandemic crisis on the East coast, most civilization was abandoned near the Atlantic Ocean. After that, the world slowly began to fall to pieces and almost every country made a scramble to figure a way to make space travel easier so they could colonize a planet. But a new leader came out of the ashes and proclaimed they would consider the apocalypse a "rebirth" and proceeded (with his advanced engineering) to clear radioactivity from America and make it livable again. With the help of his crew, he builds a high security city and begins to build out past the east coast. Shortly after he rebuilds NY, he disappears and his advisor rises to power. He is a fair but cruel master (calling himself a Lord) and some people refuse to work for him. These people manage to escape the oppression of the Lord and live out on the wasteland that was once a great country. Some band together to make right communities and others rough it out by themselves, scavenging for a living.

The five teens and two of their other mutant friends must work together to save the other mutants and defeat the Leader of the Facility for good.
