I slid down the wall to the ground clutching my side. 

It felt like forever but Damien eventually opened the door and stepped out in front of me with his bodyguard hovering close behind. 

"What are you doing here?" He demanded. 

He froze staring at me freezing outside in the middle of the night as he held up his hand to halt the bodyguard coming towards me. 

He narrowed his eyes taking in the blood, bruises, and where my hand was.
