You could see tears welling up behind his eyelashes. Why was he crying? "Just once." He pulled you into his chest, wrapping one arm around your waist and cradling the back of your head in his other. "Okay, okay. This is fine. We still have time to, uh..." he trailed off, removing his hand from your head to wipe his face. "We can fix this.
