Salena Chambers was the girl that everyone picked on because of her weight. She was the butt of the joke all through elementary and middle school. She was 250 pounds by the age of 13. The summer before her Freshmen year, she moved across the country from her small Southern California town to New York City to live with her mom. When her mothers sudden death leaves her shocked and grieving she is forced to move back to Ava to live with her father, Carl Chambers. And all of the people who used to make her life miserable because she was overweight. 

Salena has always had a bad temper and now she is filled with the anger and pain of her mothers death. Salena is dealing with her feelings toward herself, towards her mothers death, and the challenges of high school when you don't fit in.
