Hooded

I always knew it would happen.

It had been a story passed down from word of mouth. A sort of legend told through tales that have been repeated to us since childhood, yet it was never given serious thought until we have grown up. What we have been raised to think was a tall tale meant to scare children into behaving turned into one of caution.

It is a familiar tale, one told to me by my father, who was told by his father, whose father told him. A story that is all too familiar.

It is inevitable.
