Five years ago, Riley's best friend, James, was taken by a tornado right in front of her. Now, on the anniversary of his disappearance, Riley is taken away by an all-too-similar tornado. She finds herself in a completely different world with a heart-shaped brand on her forearm. A strange tornado humanoid introduces her to the "Realm of Truth," and delivers her to James' doorstep. After five years, and in a world where humans are not a natural occurrence, Riley has a lot of catching up to do--but first, she has to meet the Emperor. Then James tells her that he previously worked for the Emperor, but refuses to go into detail about it, and still insists on accompanying her to the meeting. She plans to ask this Emperor about her brand, marking her as an "Empath," after James, and their plant-humanoid friend Lumino, tells her it hasn't appeared on a human in millenia. The tornado-humanoid had told her she was chosen for this realm, but Riley can't decide whether they were lying, if James had something to do with it, or if it's because of her empath brand.

Beyond The Rational World

The world she knows because she has read it multiple times, but also the world she doesn't know because it was supposed to be fiction! Her only consolation was meeting the man she had been crying over for the past year. Would she be able to save the man from his inevitable destiny, or does she have to leave behind the man who made her feel things she didn't know were possible? The story is not edited, so if you see any grammatical mistakes, kindly ignore them. I will edit it once I complete it.
