Stuck in a loop of travel, drinking and hanging out with her old friend, Jackman, an old friend of his is in town to visit requesting assistance and sharing news of abnormally large numbers of disappearance of their kind.

Thousands of centuries ago humans, vampires, and werewolves lived together in harmony, considering one equal to the other. Paranoia along with the constant "What could happen" plagued her every move, her every decision. Fear of the unknown. Going to club 'Pure' was the start of her new life, but when a stranger buys you a drink...you shouldn't accept it. That undiluted feeling of 'fight or flight' hit her in one enormous wave. Fear brought on adrenaline, it sung in her veins-and as she turned to hastily leave, that nagging thought in the back of her mind said, "You're being watched. Run. Now." Katerina knew right then and there that she had made the worst decison of her life. She knew going out to a club and being around people would only cause more problems.
