This story follows Mariana (Mary Ann) Vasquez and Jack Anglero. A boy and girl meet in a country far away from their home in the Caribbean, having met only once before in their childhood. This isn't a typical boy meets girl though... both of them have deep dark secrets that they are unwilling to share. As Mary Ann digs herself in deeper, the veil between what's real and what's not begins to crumble, along with her I"m-just-an-ordinary-teenage-girl facade, and it's up to Jack to help her figure out the truth about the supernatural, without getting them both in trouble.
