It had only been a matter of time. That's what everyone said the moment Lannis Ardavan disappeared, but to 13-year-old Eve Larkstone, he had merely been her favorite professor. While the adults in the town of Tarl whispered about treason against the king, many children were astounded that the brilliant, fiery young man had angered the crown at all, and Eve was no exception.

All he did was talk about the value of democracy...

Hauled away for "inciting the people" with the "spark" of revolution and labeled a spy, Lannis was said to be taken to the Tower, which until now, Eve had believed to be merely fiction. As she uncovers the secrets of her kingdom and searches for her beloved teacher, she also begins to uncover her own strength and power, in a world where children have no voice.

Sword and Mind

34 parts Complete

Pallu, at seventeen, is exhausted from training as a warrior and as one of the Queen's elite White Guard, a group of telekinetics who protect the kingdom from evil mages. Already, she has traveled and battled more than most grown men. What she needs is a holiday, but naturally that holiday can't go without the king's being assassinated, her father nearly dying, her own life being threatened, and oh, she can suddenly hear a voice in her head. So much for holidays. Pallu returns home to meet this voice who turns out to be Rumah, a young woman who shares an uncanny resemblance to Pallu. Together these new friends must fight to save their kingdom from the chaos and destruction of traitorous mages. But at what cost? ***I've finally gotten all the chapters loaded! I hope you enjoy!*** As of 7/12/2020, I've updated/revised chapters 3 & 4. As always, I covet your comments. This is one of my older novels (over ten years old) that I stumbled across and wanted to share.
